January 29, 2021: Happy New Year! It is time to start daydreaming about your garden! I’m offering two upcoming classes on seeds, seed starting, planning your garden and making a planting schedule February 9th and 16th from 6-7pm on Zoom. Oct 20, 2020: Community Farm Clean-up Oct 21-29! Sign up for a two-hour slot to help out and I’ll send you home with produce. (COVID precautions detailed in sign-up form.) Community Shout Out to market staff Candi & Shaletta! Farmstand open through Oct 31 with lots of pie pumpkins.

Sept 17, 2020: I have a new blog post up: Wildfire Preparedness for Everyone. Also, Community Shout Out to Sarah West! Don’t forget to donate to the market’s 40th Anniversary Fundraiser by 9/30! Free fruit from Avella Orchard. Bulk chiles, peppers, basil & tomatoes available. See you at the market this Saturday (as long as the air is not rated “hazardous.”) We will be roasting chiles! The credit union has a new loan program to buy locally raised meat and freezers to put it in!

August 18, 2020: It is just too hot for lettuce right now. We have gads of cucumbers and basil. The cauliflower, peppers, and zucchini are coming on and we even have orange pumpkins peeking out!
This week’s community shout-out is for Bill Whitaker. Bill has been a mentor to me over the years and has seemingly boundless energy for all the issues that affect us from healthcare to local food to democracy.
